Does Your Period Underwear Have One Body Layer -- or Two?
Where should you check?
1. Find the thinnest part of the undie’s body fabric.
Skip the gusset. It has layers of its own.

2. Pinch the fabric with one hand inside and one outside.

3. Gently pull the fabric apart.

With Pee Chee Cheex, the answer is two.
With a common one-layer body construction, there is no separate second body layer to lift away.
By the way, both fine layers are made with LENZING™ Modal.
(Why that fabric? You'll soon see)
Why One Body Layer Was So Tempting
In nearly all the mainstream period undies we examined, one body layer was the norm.
We understand why.
Not just less body fabric to cut.
Not just less time at the sewing machine.
Not just fewer chances for silky-smooth layers to slip out of alignment.
No... there's a very human side to making period undies.
You see, adding a second layer wasn’t the hardest part.
Adding a second layer of LENZING™ Modal was.
This Fabric Tested The Whole Team
You know what's ironic? The fabric qualities we chose for your comfort were exactly what made our sewing team’s job harder.
It’s buttery soft, breathable, and feels premium the moment it touches your skin.
Everyone who tries it says the same thing:
╭──────────.♡..─╮
"Ohhh… these feel luxe."
╰─..♡.──────────╯
It’s also feather-light ☁️ -- perfect for letting your bits breathe and stay comfy.
What feels couture on your skin makes it a fussy little number to stitch.
It stretches. It slides. It’s whisper-thin.
Honestly, our production floor manager called it...
╭──────────.♡..─╮
"a ‘bitch’ of a fabric to work with"
╰─..♡.──────────╯
And he wasn't exaggerating.
Imagine putting all that care into sewing a piece, getting everything right, only to see it rejected further down the line when the two layers came together.
Over and over again. (At one point, it felt like every second pair had to be rejected!!)
Of course, there was the wasted fabric, time and money.
But seeing all that good, hard work go to waste, and watching the team's spirits sink with every rejected piece?
That's the human side of making period undies.
We considered removing the second body layer.
One layer would have been easier to sew.
Meaning faster to produce.
Which means... cheaper to make.
If it didn't compromise lasting comfort or protection, I'd be a ginormous fan of one body layer. (Have you seen the price of petrol lately?!)
But I'm not down with lower costs at the expense of performance, and neither should you.
Not when it meant giving up the added structure, the discreet finish and extra backup we wanted you to have.
Remember this,

Your comfort and the undie’s performance mattered too much to make another meh, me-too pair.
We chose the harder way.
We stopped production.
Paused the entire floor. Mid-run.
(With silent sewing machines and a pile of undies -- 39% rejected -- this part is heartbreaking.)
We redesigned how it’s put together from the ground up.
Kept all our patented leakproof magic.
So the changed process made it construction-friendly. Stitchable. Repeatable -- with much less room for errors.
Now you know why we persisted with two body layers.
But that still leaves another question:
Why was LENZING™ Modal worth all that trouble?
The fabric sitting against your sensitive skin had to earn its place.
